XLR Industries Evolution Precision Rifle Chasis System
It’s one thing to gawk at the Evolution system on XLR’s website, and another thing entirely to pull the stock out its box just a few weeks after placing the order. The first hands-on experience almost makes you wonder if there was some mistake. It’s just hard to believe you’re actually getting this much stock for this little price!
Kyle told us he “wanted to build a top quality chassis that is affordable; I believe in shooter first, business second.” It looks like they’ve accomplished their objective.

The Walther PPS is a small, slender, pistol imported and distributed by Smith and Wesson. It is available in 9mm and .40 cal. It features a black polymer frame mated to a steel slide. Oregon Precision Firearms Training LLC
shooting instruction, guns, pistol, shooting rangeMost recently Shooter Reviews had the opportunity to go to Oregon Precision Firearms Training LLC in Bend, Oregon. OPFT is co-owned by Dell Hackett and Mike Herbes. This school has two world-class instructors. Before I get into this article I want to introduce these two men to give readers a background on Dell and Mike.
Mike is a lifelong shooter, hunter, and avid reloader. Mike has taught pistol, carbine, precision rifle, and sniper tactics to numerous allied countries, elite military, and law enforcement agencies. He is currently employed by The Oregon Department of Public Safety
ATACS Cammo Oregon Hydrographics
We took our Desert Tactical Arms SRS and Bushmaster ACR and let Mike have his way with them. When we got them back they looked very different. Our SRS went from OD Green to Tiger Stripe Green. Also, our ACR had originally been black. Now it has the latest ATACS Cammo. WE WERE IMPRESSED to say the least.
In case you are worried about your firearm going through the ‘hydro’ part of this, as we were at first with about $11,000 worth of firearms going through the process, be assured that Mike knows what he’s doing and he knows firearms! We checked closely for any signs that our bores had been fowled and we checked the other working parts of our guns to ensure that everything still moved freely and worked properly.
Beowulf 50 Caliber AR
My initial reaction when pulling the Beowulf out of its case was, wow this gun is incredibly light for what it’s shooting. Out of the box it isn’t much to look at. Just your standard AR style rifle. Right off the bat; we threw some nice aftermarket parts from Magpul on it. Including the MOE Grip, UBR Stock, Flip Up Sights and Rail Covers, all in Flat Dark Earth. After all this the rifle is really aesthetically pleasing. I also added a Wolff Extra Power Buffer Spring combined with a Buffer Technologies Enidine Hydraulic Recoil Buffer to help tame some of the monster recoil from this beast.
